I installed the latest version of WordPress, my blogging software, a few minutes ago, and I’m really liking it. The new look is really smooth and simple. This shouldn’t affect anything on your end, but under the hood things are a lot more fun.
Rabbit Room sure has been exciting this week. Lots of posts and comments on art and language and media. It’s been very helpful to think through these issues some more.
I’ve been getting pretty excited lately about Relief Journal, of which our own J. Mark Bertrand is an advisor. Relief Journal is a literary journal that publishes work by Christian writers. It’s just getting started well, and I think it has great potential from what I’ve seen so far. I can’t wait until I can get hold of an actual physical copy. I’ve greatly enjoyed reading the blog postings on the main website, which have been revolving around how a Christian should write.
School is going well. I’m very much ready to be out, and that time is coming up in just a few short weeks.
I’ve been looking for a summer job, and I have an interview in a week or so. Maybe something will come of it. I’d actually kinda like staying around here for a while, I think, and renting an apartment or house or room. Housing seems to cost between $200 and $400 for something halfway decent. Pretty dirt cheap, if you ask me.
I’m still trying to figure out whether Ableton Live or Logic Pro or Pro Tools is the best choice for audio production software. When I get the money, I’m probably going to get some sort of Apple laptop and one of these applications. Live seems to be advancing at a rate that eclipses almost anything else I’ve seen. It’s pretty incredible, but it also seems to be designed for doing electronic and hip hop type stuff.
